For the past decade, since May 2, 2008, with the release of the film, Iron Man, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown to have a fan base of billions worldwide. Creating the Avengers required a diversity of complex characters that many different people can enjoy. The leaders of the Avengers is the contrasting characters of billionare entrepreneur, Tony Stark who created Iron Man and the inspirational, patriotic Steve Rodgers as Captain America. Following their lead is the angry, Incredible Hulk, and the mighty God of thunder, Thor. Also, the marksman, Hawkeye and the highly trained Black Widow are members of the Avengers. Since the first Avengers film was released on May 4, 2012, the M.C.U. has introduced highly beloved characters such as ally of Captain America, Falcon, Bucky, Ant-Man, the friendly, neighborhood Spider-Man, Quick Silver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, and King of Wakanda, the Black Panther. Lastly, most recently in the third Avengers film, the crew of the Guardians of the Galaxy was introduced to join the team in the fight against super villain, Thanos. Each of these famous superheroes has attracted a wide fan base. Here is the opinion of ten local fans and their hopes for the future of the M.C.U.

Who is your favorite Avenger, why?

“My favorite Avenger is Spiderman because he has very unique powers and he is just this nerdy high school kid who also has to protect New York from crime.”

-Carter Miller, 11

“Spiderman is my favorite Avenger. The reason for this is because I think he is the coolest out of all the Avengers.”

-Alex Kenworthy, 11

“My favorite Avenger is Captain America. He is my favorite Avenger because he is much more human or realistic than say Hulk or Thor. It is not likely someone will turn into a green giant, or have god like powers.”

-Claire Stinger, 9

“Captain America is my favorite Avenger by far. He was the original Avenger, and he is very patriotic. He cares a lot about his country and did not want to be controlled by the government in Civil War. He also is a kind person who saw the good side in Bucky Barnes and defended him.”

-Jacob McCreary, 11

“Spiderman because he is funny and has cool powers.”

-Wesley Thumb, 11

In your opinion, who is the most powerful avenger? Explain.

“In my opinion, Spiderman is the strongest Avenger because his spidey-senses and super strength combined with his incredible heart allow him to match up against anybody.”

“Captain Marvel is the most powerful Avenger in my opinion. She has cosmic powers in her binary form.”

-Alex Kenworthy, 11

“In my opinion, the most powerful Avenger is Thor. Thor is the strongest because he can lift a hammer that no one else can. He is also very powerful because his god-like powers and abilities.”

-Claire Stinger, 9

“In my opinion, Doctor Strange is the most powerful from the MCU. With the Time Stone, he could control time. He also had the power to defeat Dormamu in the Doctor Strange movie. In the comics though, I would say Captain Marvel is the most powerful Avenger. In binary form, she does have cosmic powers. When she isn’t in binary form, she has damage resistance and super strength.”

-Jacob McCreary, 11

“The most powerful Avenger is Thor because he is a demigod and was the only Avenger other than Iron Man to draw blood from Thanos.”

-Wesley Thumb, 11

In the upcoming fourth Avengers film, what do you hope to see, why?

“I hope to see Spider-Man take out Thanos single -handedly because that would be a very fun experience.”

-Carter Miller, 11

“I would like to see Spider-man make a return because he is my favorite Avenger and he also turned into dust in the last movie, so he could be dead.”

-Alex Kenworthy, 11

“In the upcoming Avenger film, I hope to see a lot of action. I hope to also see Stan Lee, it is rumored he is to be in one of the pre-filmed scenes.”

“I hope to see the characters that turn[ed] to dust come back because I want to see them come back and defeat Thanos. I also realize that Captain America will likely die so I want him to have a memorable and honorable death. I hope a new Avengers team will form so more movies can happen. Lastly,  I want there to be an awesome Stan Lee cameo because he recently passed away.”

-Jacob McCreary, 11

“I hope to see what happens with Captain Marvel and how the remaining Avengers will defeat Thanos.”

-Wesley Thumb, 11
