When someone says they do not want to be forgotten

They are not referring to the passage of time.

If they were, their true meaning would be lost in the simplicity.

What they really mean is it’s not being forgotten they’re scared of

It’s ceasing to exist.

They want to live and touch the world around them

They want to experience life, love, and hate.

We want to break.

We want to feel so intensely that we could scream-

Yet nothing comes out.

How can they do that when they’ve simply ceased to be?
