On January 6, 2022, over two thousand Trump supporters charged the Capitol building in Washington D.C., leaving five dead. Supporters attacked the Capitol because they had a goal of “stopping the election certification, based on baseless conspiracy theories of widespread voter fraud, that was encouraged by elected officials,” (americanoversight.com). One of the protesters, Nancy Barron, is a Patriot, Indiana, resident who contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) stating that she was inside of the Capitol during the riots.

Barron was arrested on March 15, 2022, with four charges for the riot at the Capitol. The FBI found many photos and videos of Barron at the Capitol, inside and outside. FBI agents claim that in the videos they saw Barron “walking through the Capitol and approaching the House Chamber doors,” according to (wishtv.com). While roaming the Capitol, she was shouting “expletives and asking the whereabouts of House Leader Nancy Pelosi,” (Indystar.com).  During her interview with the FBI, she lied to agents saying “she was pushed into the building and that she tried to find an exit as soon as she was inside,”(wishtv.com). In one of the videos on Facebook, Barron was seen shouting “Go in,” many times followed by “Charge,” according to (Indystar.com).

Currently, Barron is facing many federal charges like “entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol Building and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building,” according to (Indystar.com).
