CHS Today

Despite the fact that school is now remotely online, administration is trying their best to make all of the senior traditions possible. One of these traditions is scholarship night. Students applied for the scholarships back in march, and there were over one hundred on the list. Typically, those who received a local scholarship would receive an invitation in the mail to attend scholarship night. However, this year a gathering that big is not permitted under the current regulations, so a live virtual scholarship night was held on May 11. Broadcasted on Channel three and on the CHS Today YouTube channel, students were able to listen to Mr. Judd announce each winner and give a description of the scholarship criteria and origin.

Scholarship winner, Katie Keegan stated, “Receiving scholarships means that my hard work and dedication has paid off in a way. People that did not know me chose me based on my work and essay, and it felt so good to know my hard work stood out. […] I didn’t expect to get as many as I did. However, in the end I’m grateful for each sponsor that chose me.” Keegan plans to attend Purdue University for Psychological Science in the fall.

Congratulations to all of the scholarship winners!
